Each Psychologist sets their own fees. Please contact them individually for more information. Payment is due on the day of each consultation.
How to pay
Session fees are payable at the time of your appointment unless a third party (e.g. insurer) has agreed to pay for your treatment and be billed later. Ask your Psychologist how they take payment. Some use an EFTPOS terminal for card payments, while others allow you to enter your card details into a secure payment portal (e.g. Halaxy) for automatic payment processing.
If you are referred by your GP or Psychiatrist to one of our Psychologists using a Mental Health Care Plan, then you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. This rebate is roughly $85 for a Registered Psychologist and $125 for a Clinical Psychologist per session. You will also have to pay a gap fee, but Medicare will pay 80% of this if you meet the safety net threshold (read about the Medicare Safety Net here). Private Health Insurance
We recommend you contact your health fund to find out if you are covered for Psychology and how much you can claim. Some health funds also only cover services for certain types of Psychologist (e.g. Clinical Psychologist), so it is worth checking on this if you plan to use private health insurance. You will need to submit the payment receipt we give you to your health fund to claim the rebate.
Workers compensation and Insurance Commission of WA claims
When booking your appointment, please let us know if you have an insurance claim. If your insurer has agreed to fund Psychology sessions, we may be able to bill the insurer directly. It is your responsibility to get approval for your sessions and provide us with written evidence of this at least 48 hours before your appointment if you want us to bill your insurer. For example, this evidence could be an email saying something like, "We will fund 6 Psychology sessions at WorkCover rates on a without prejudice basis". If you do not provide this approval evidence then you must pay for your session on the day and try to claim it back from your insurer using the invoice we give you.
To help you manage your time and health an automated SMS system will remind you of your appointment, with an option to confirm or cancel.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will allow us to give valuable appointment times to other clients. Please be aware that a cancellation fee is payable where less than 24 notice is given. Full payment is required for missed appointments.
